Coffee and clothing which ends homelessness...
Crisis charity shop and cafe to open on Rye Lane Peckham 6th February 2020
If you have visited the Crisis cafe in Shoreditch then you will be excited to know that Crisis is opening a cafe and charity shop in Peckham! We love visiting the Shoreditch Crisis cafe, not only does it serve great coffee in a lovely space but also supports those on their journey out of homelessness.
Crisis is the national charity for homeless people. Crisis works with thousands of homeless people across the UK every year by providing housing, health, education and employment services.
The Crisis cafes offer practical hospitality and catering training such as kitchen craft and barista skills to people affected by homelessness. Member can gain qualifications and confidence in a public-facing environment enabling them to move on from homelessness.
The new Peckham Crisis Cafe will be opening on Rye Lane on February 6th, as well as a cafe there will also be a Crisis charity shop, selling various items to help raise vital funds for the Crisis charity.
The Peckham Crisis cafe will serve socially conscious food and coffee from Volcano Coffee Works, who the charity has teamed up with. Like the Shoreditch Crisis cafe, the Peckham Crisis cafe will also employ people affected by homelessness in some way, helping them learn new barista and kitchen skills.
Make sure you pop in and grab a coffee or peruse rails of the charity shop!
