1. Watch a cult film at Peckham Levels - FREE
Every Tuesday ‘Deeper into the movies’ hosts a FREE movie night at Peckham Levels. Each week they choose a different classic/cult film for everyone to enjoy… for FREE! On the 21st Jan they will be screening the fantastically brilliant 1988 film Beetlejuice. There is also free popcorn with every food or drink purchase!

2. South London Gallery new art exhibition - FREE
This January South London Gallery in Peckham the SLG REcreative Editorial Board will be presenting a new FREE exhibition at the SLG, asking visitors respond to the question: what’s not being said about Peckham? A pretty interesting topic, with we’re sure will trigger a variety of insightful responses.

3. Comedy night under the arches- £6
If you’re looking for something to get you through January with a bit of a lol then get tickets to Rye Laughs! Rye Laughs is usually a monthly gig (it has now moved to Thursdays) under the arches in Peckham Springs. This month it’s kicking off the new decade with a great line up including comedian Sarah Keyworth.

4. New music - Peckham Audio £4.50
Basement club Peckham Audio down Rye Lane hosts lots of brilliant music nights in Peckham and is great at showcasing new music and talent - plus gig tickets are super cheap! Head down on the 24th Jan to enjoy the single launch of South London five piece band Tiña (pronounced ‘teen-ya’). Made up of members of Bat-Bike, Uncle Tesco and Pet Grotesque.

5. Visit the magnificent and historic cemetery - FREE
If you’re feeling a little sluggish after overindulging at crimbo then a long walk might be what you need. Close to Peckham is The Nunhead Cemetery. It is one of the Magnificent Seven cemeteries in London and even though it might be the least famous, it is one of the most beautiful. For those looking for a bit of history, be sure to stop in and take in the graves of William Brough, Cicely Not, and Alfred Vance, among other notables. And if you have some change, why not treat yourself to a delish coffee at Goodcup on close by Nunhead Green.
