Head down to The Montpelier Pub in Peckham to watch a free art documentary which explores the idea of a ‘2 hours work per day’.
'2 hours work per day' is based on the premise that if across the world all the work that society produced was organised in service of the needs of society, and that work then divided between those who are able to work, we would need to work two hours a day or ten hours per week. The documentary asks what would you do if you and the rest of the world only had to work two hours a day and how can we achieve this?
The film will be shown on loop at the Montpelier Back Room Cinema in Peckham on Sunday 8th September from 1pm - 11pm. Entry is free and the film lasts 40 mins.
The artist, Jose Maria Martinelli, is a Latin American video artist who currently lives in London. He has made over 75 short films, documentaries and experimental video art. Over the last 8 years he has had a number of exhibitions in both London and Argentina, most recently showing 'Men Cry', a documentary critiquing traditional masculinity.
