A collaborative exhibition of ten London based artists at a unique location.
Out of the dark, something alluring beckons you to enter.
Discover enticing creations from artists specialising in various disciplines. Featuring interactive sculptures, textile objects, drawings, digital collage, paintings, woodcarving, experimental photo montage and prints, complimented by chainsaw woodcarving demonstrations, as well as print and photo montage workshops on the Sunday.
The artists are connected by a shared interest in (local) history, symbolism and storytelling.
Sirens is the first instalment of a series of collaborative exhibitions throughout London.
Exhibiting artists: Patrycia Borecka, Sophie Brookes, Magda Chambers, Mahal de Man, Clara Kelly, Victoria King, Bayly Shelton, Tony Smith, Alex Vardy-Meers and Sisetta Zappone.
Safehouse 1 forms a unique backdrop to the art works, the dilapidated shell of a Victorian house with its raw wooden beams and exposed brickwork, challenges conventional ‘white cube’ exhibition spaces.
The venue is located a five minute walk from Peckham Rye Station and is part of Copeland Park. The exhibition will coincide with the Winter Open Studios of the Bussey Building.
The exhibition spans two floors. The ground floor is wheelchair accessible apart from the garden.
The exhibition will be open to the public on:
Saturday 7th December 2pm – 9pm
Sunday 8 December 11am – 7pm
The private view will take place on 7 December from 6 – 9pm
On Sunday 8 December there will be:
family-friendly photo montage workshop by Patrycia Borecka at 11:30am-1pm
Chainsaw woodcarving demonstration by Alex Vardy-Meers at 1pm
