A new dance event is coming to AMP Studios in Peckham on Saturday 14th July. South London based DJ Kola Adefope will be sharing his extensive vinyl record collection with Peckham via his latest dance event I Got Rhythm. The night will be an infectious mix of global dance tunes from Funk, salsa, Fela Kuti’s polyrhythmic afrobeat, roots reggae vibrations and Brazilian beats.
The concept behind I Got Rhythm is, a lively and inclusive event for anyone who enjoys and wants to dance in a relaxed venue, without the “pressures” that sometimes comes with being in a club setting. The event will be taking place at one of Maverick Projects unique locations – the architecturally impressive AMP Studios. It’s high ceiling brickwork archways and glass pavilion leading out to the courtyard makes it quite an atmospheric setting to hold a dance night
The first part of the night will give revellers the chance to learn some salsa moves with a dance lesson from Salsamotion. A dance club that runs regular salsa classes for both beginners and intermediate levels in Blackheath. The second part of the night is all about listening and dancing to various dance genres from Kola’s broad vinyl collection.
