Babber: Charcoal grilled kebab restaurant to open at the White Horse Pub
Peckham’s White Horse pub is known for doing some pretty cool kitchen takeovers (Wildflower anybody?) but now it will be launching Babber, a brand new restaurant opening on 25th October.
Babber in Peckham will be run by head chef Joseph Ryan who started at Hoi Polloi and Salon in Brixton Village before running the kitchen at Frank’s Cafe will be serving up a menu of charcoal-grilled Kebabs. The menu will focus on crafted kebabs and small grazing plates.
You can expect chicken with harissa mayo, red cabbage, and apricot relish; pork neck with n’duja, pickled turnips, and garlic yoghurt; lamb kofte with zhoug, marinated courgettes, and tahini sauce, and the delicious vegan aubergine doner with yoghurt, chermoula and bhajis. All served on the house flatbread.
In addition to kebabs Babber will also be serving scotch bonnet chicken wings with blue cheese sauce, indulgent grilled halloumi with pomegranate as well as roast cauliflower with all the dressings, and grilled seabass with saffron potatoes, courgettes, and mint. Sounds bloody amazing.
