Napura
Napura is one of the newest restaurants to open down Nunhead Green. Napura restaurant, near to Nunhead station serves up Portuguese inspired cuisine. This family-owned restaurant is influenced by the family’s mother who grew up in the Portuguese midlands. Where she learned the rich Portuguese tradition of cooking – something they promise you will experience at Napura.
The focus on the menu seems to be around meat. Like a hearty Jardineira (£14.50) – a beef stew with potatoes and vegetables or Bitoque do Lombo (£19.50) – Chargrilled Ribeye steak with rice, fried egg and chips.
There is also quite a good few fish options like Robalo nab rasa (£18) – Chargrilled seabass with fries or Bacalhau com natas (£13.50) – creamy oven roast cod.
And, for the vegetarians, there is dishes such as Guisado de beringela e tomate (£9.50) – Aubergine and tomato stew.
But one thing is a must if you are dining at a Portuguese restaurant, to try a Pastel de nata (a Portuguese custard tart) at £1.50 each it is worth perhaps sampling two.
