Babette

Babette restaurant in Nunhead, image; Image; http://babettenunhead.com/

This Parisian style bar-restaurant is well worth a visit. With the exposed brick, rustic decor and chandelier lighting, you feel like you have stepped into a Parisian living room, rather than a former Nunhead pub. Something perhaps to do with the French owner in which the restaurant is named after, she is very much involved in the day to day running and has a clear influence in the ambience of the place. The menu - two sharing boards (one meat, one veggie) a short selection of sharing plates, sides and desserts is chalked up on blackboards and changes daily. The wine list is varied and there is a great selection of indulgent cocktails to choose from.

If you live further afield, this restaurant is well worth making the trip for. Bon Appétit!
