Voodoo Ray's Peckham
Peckham seems to love a pizzeria - the latest joint is Voodoo Ray’s, which also has restaurants in Dalston and Shoreditch.
Voodoo Ray’s in Peckham bakes giant 22” New York pizzas and serves them by the slice (£4) or as a whole pizza (or pie as they call it). Apparently 2 slices of Voodoo Ray’s pizza is equivalent to a whole 11” pizza - so a couple of slices should fill you up.
This spacious, retro bar cum American diner style pizzeria claim to source the best creamy buffalo and flor di latte mozzarella and ues Italy’s renowned Caputo flour in their pizza bases. They use an ever changing selection of seasonal toppings to create unusual flavours and top notch pizzas. You can choose from 11 pizza flavours like Porky’s; Cumberland sausage, stilton, red onion, mozzarella, tomato sauce and parsley, or for vegan diner’s you can try the Queen Vegan; artichoke hearts, green olives, red onion, sun blush tomatoes, tomato and green sauce.
This is quite a cool late night pizza option open until midnight on the weekends. They serve craft beer, cocktails and frozen margaritas made using golden reposada tequilla, agave syrup and fresh citrus made in their very own slushie machines.
Surprisingly Voodoo Ray’s serve brunch from 11am-3pm on the weekends. You can try a hearty Ray’s breakfast; savoury Japanese pancake with smoked pancetta, free range poached egg, kewpie mayonnaise, tuscan salsicca, roast vine tomato, wild mushrooms, peashoots and chives (£10.50). There is also a veggie option, replacing the smoked pancetta with haloumi or a vegan option; roast aubergine, marinated tofu, roast peppers, vine tomatoes, spring onions & pine nuts, tomato sauce served with toasted sourdough (£8.50).
They also do Slice Night every Monday from 4pm, where you can get all slices for £2.50 or a whole pizza for £20.
Voodoo Ray’s in Peckham also offers pizza delivery.
