London’s festival scene is pretty bloody epic - hosting some of the coolest music events around from one day parties to long weekenders and it looks like this year South London festivals are leading the way. These are our top pick London music festivals 2019 South of the river.

Peckham Gala festival 2019

We gotta start with this one. GALA festival in Peckham, South London’s festival of independent music, food and drink is back for a second year after rave reviews following last year’s debut. This one-dayer festival in Peckham Rye Park falls on the May bank holiday on Sunday 26th and promises some good time party music - with the most esteemed and significant names in house and disco. The GALA line up has been announced, Honey Dijon, Horse Meat Disco, Crazy P to name a few. There are still final release tickets up for grabs but be quick as this will def be a sell out.

Taking place on Peckham Rye the day after GALA on May bank holiday Monday is Kerb’s Jam on the Rye in Peckham is a celebration of food music and local talent. The line up includes queen of RnB Kelis, musical legend Jazzie B and soul legend Omar who having collaborated with the likes of Stevie Wonder and Carleen Anderson and lots of other. Our local Peckham radio station Balamii will also be hosting a stage showcasing local talent. As well as the great music, Jam on the Rye will be serving up some great food by local Peckham food traders like Deserted Cactus, Garden Of Eden and Bokit'La as well as award winning street food traders like Bleeker Burger, Baba G's, Club Mexicana and BBQ Dreamz. First release £30 tickets are now on sale.

Mighty Hoopla

The colourful Might Hoopla festival 2019 comes to South London’s Brockwell Park on June 8th. This festival is all about embracing alterbative club culture and guilty pleasure pop. The Line up includes All Saints, Bananarama, Liberty X, Samantha Mumba, Jamelia, Tove Lo are among the performers, while Sink the Pink, Guilty Pleasures, Massaoke and The Cocoa Butter Club bring the party vibes. This is just all about feel good vibes. General admission tickets still available £45.

Lambeth Country Show 2019: Free event

The 45th Lambeth Country Show will return to Brockwell Park on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 July 2019. This festival is such a fun representation of South East London - it has such good vibes with lots of randomly fun activities. As well as the good music a mix of dub, Afro-beat, disco, jazz, folk, ska and soul there is also Horticultural shows, sheep and owl displays, home grown vegetable and flower competitions, an abundance of craft and food stalls and our very own on site farm! The best part about it all is it is FREE for everyone, making it super inclusive.

Nunfest 2019: Free event

Nunfest is a 1 day free music event in Nunhead, South East London that will be taking place 20th April 2019. Local venues across Nunhead will be hosting lots of exciting music acts throughout the day, from Folk at The Waverley to Americana & bluegrass at the Man of Kent, a Cher-themed disco at the Old Nun's Head, kid's musical activities at The Green, rappers at The Pyrotechnists Arms, a band dressed as nuns and a 9-piece Afrobeat act at The Ivy House and awesome DJs at The Golden Anchor - Nunfest promises music to satisfy all tastes!
